Pet Therapy Preparation
Does your well-mannered dog love strangers? Do you like to volunteer your time and make people smile? Do you want to share your love for dogs and your dog’s love with like-minded people who don’t have that opportunity? Then you are a Pet Therapy Dog team in the making.
Don’t know where to start? The Pet Therapy Prep Class will help you prepare to become a certified therapy dog team. In this 6-week course, you will review behaviors that will help move your dog forward in their therapy dog training.
PRE-REQUISITE for this course is completion of the Basic class. Your dog should have a reliable sit, down, stay, recall and loose leash walking skills, in the presence of other dogs and people. Dogs should be at least 10 months of age at the start of the class. Rescue dogs should be with their owners at least 6 months.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ALLOW TWO HANDLERS PER DOG FOR THIS CLASS.
COST: $225 for six 1-hour sessions. Payment is required upon registration to hold your spot in the class. Pet Therapy evaluation testing will be scheduled after the conclusion of class with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy.

Canine Good Citizen Prep and Testing
This course will prepare you and your dog to take the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. The CGC test was designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The focus will be on all the CGC test items and proofing your dog’s skills. This 5-week course will include the CGC test to be scheduled during the last session.
PRE-REQUISITE for this course is completion of the Basic class. Your dog should have a reliable sit, down, stay, recall and loose leash walking skills, in the presence of other dogs and people.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ALLOW TWO HANDLERS PER DOG FOR THIS CLASS.
COST: $200 for five 1-hour lessons, and the CGC test will be conducted during the 6th class. Payment is required upon registration to hold your spot in the class.
