Group Class Policies

PLEASE READ OUR POLICIES PRIOR
TO CLASS REGISTRATION.

Contact us if you have any questions.

Class Payments
Class payments must be made upon registration in order to guarantee your spot in the class.  Payments can be made through our website using PayPal.  If you need an alternate method of payment (we accept Zelle or Venmo), please contact us. Note: credit payments may be subject to a service fee.

Class and Clinic Cancellations
Payment secures your spot in the class/clinic. If you have paid and find you cannot attend your scheduled class, you must give at least 1 week’s notice before the start date to receive a refund less a processing fee. For less than 1 week’s notice, including registrations made less than 1 week prior to the class start date, we cannot guarantee a refund or credit unless we are able to fill the class spot.  No refunds/credits are given or transfers made once class has begun.

Class Requirements
Some classes have minimum age, instructional requirements and/or pre-requisites which should be completed before a student should register.  This information is listed in each class description on our website.  Please read this information carefully and refer to our class cancellation policy.  If you have any questions about the requirements, please contact us.

You will need to sign a WAIVER and provide proof of VACCINES. We require age appropriate vaccines.  For young puppies we need proof of at least the first Distemper/Parvo vaccine.  For dogs over 6 months of age we also require proof of Rabies.  We accept documentation from breeders and veterinarians (history reports, receipts), as well as titer reports.

Class Make Ups
We realize that sometimes life happens and you might miss a class. While we do have a curriculum for each class, we tend to customize the lessons for the individual class/students.  Sitting in on another class would not guarantee you would see the particular lesson provided in the class you missed. In addition, existing classes cannot accommodate additional students due to social distancing restrictions.  Therefore, make-up sessions in other classes are NOT permitted.  We do not offer credits for missed sessions. See weather cancellations for classes that may be cancelled by us.

Refunds
Because registration is limited and spots fill up fast, we do NOT issue refunds for class withdrawals once a class has started.  If a dog is unable to complete class due to an injury or illness during enrollment, you may receive a pro-rated credit towards a future class with veterinary documentation. If the appropriate cancellation notice as described above is provided, a refund will be processed less an administration fee.

Class Minimums
If the minimum enrollment for a class is not met, the session may be rescheduled by My Dog’s Got Class. You will be contacted via e-mail to see if you would like to remain enrolled in the rescheduled class or receive credit toward a future service.

Class Conduct
Instructors reserve the right to excuse any dog or handler which may be a danger to themselves or others, is not in control, seems ill or injured or is disruptive to the class.

Weather/Other Cancellations
Sometimes we cancel a class or training session based on the weather. Please note that a cancellation might not necessarily be based solely on Bridgewater weather but where our trainers are coming from. The instructor may also opt to hold the class via video conferencing rather than cancelling the class.  Those people registered for a class, day training or play group will be emailed as soon as the determination is made to cancel / change the class.  We also post weather closures on our Facebook page.

A class session cancelled by MDGC will result in the entire series of a group class being postponed to the following week, thereby extending the final class date another week. If a day program session is cancelled by MDGC, we will restore the credit to your account to use for another day program session.

Sickness
If your dog shows any signs of illness, please respect your fellow students and do NOT come to class.  If your dog has had worms, kennel cough, vomiting or diarrhea, please let us know and do not return to class until your dog has been cleared by your veterinarian. We reserve the right to request confirmation from your veterinarian that your dog is healthy enough to return to class.
In response to the recent canine illness, we ask that if your dog has been boarded or visited a dog park, that you keep them home for 10 days to be sure they are symptom free before returning to class.  Your dog could be carrying a virus before showing symptoms.

In the classroom
We allow 2 participants per dog. Please wear appropriate footwear, such as sneakers. Flip-flops or slip on shoes can be a tripping hazard. Do not allow dogs to interact on-leash. There is a supervised, off-leash play session during the Puppy Kindergarten class only. Bring your dog to class on a well-fitted collar or harness attached to a 6′ leash. Bring high value treats ,a treat pouch, a soft toy and mat for your dog.

Participation of Minors
Children under the age of 18 years of age may only participate with the direct participation of an adult guardian/parent.

Graduation
Students must attend 80% of the classes in order to receive a graduation certificate.
